APPENDIX C: Qualified and Early Retirement Benefits for Benefits Accrued Before July 1, 1997

The Early and Qualified Retirement Benefits in Appendix C are subject to all other requirements, limitations, and calculations described in Section 4, When You May Retire, and in this SPD.

You may choose to have Early and Qualified Retirement Benefits calculated under Section 4, When You May Retire or under Appendix C. That choice is irrevocable after your Retirement Date.

If you meet all but the age requirement of the Qualified or Early Retirement Benefit, you may retire after age 52 with benefit payments reduced to account for commencement before the Qualified Retirement Age or the Early Retirement Age. Service and Contributions you receive before a lump sum payment are not counted to determine eligibility for these Qualified and Early Retirement -benefits.
