5.4 LIFETIME MAXIMUM BENEFIT

The maximum benefit that will be paid by the Plan on behalf of any Participant is $1,000,000. The maximum benefit available to a Retired Participant or a Dependent of a Retired Participant is $500,000. After benefits are paid for a Participant during a calendar year, the amount of paid benefits up to $10,000 will be automatically restored to the maximum benefit on the first day of the next calendar year. Restoration will occur without evidence of insurability. Automatic Restoration is not applicable to restore the lifetime maximum for any treatment of substance abuse.
