My Account FAQs
When I went to use the online claim status a security alert popped up with an indication of “The name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site”. Is this okay?
Yes, this is due to registration with the Internet application process. This site is secure, and it is okay to proceed.
Why is it taking so long to get registered and my password activated?
In order protect your privacy and comply with all federal privacy laws, we have to go through a validation process that occurs during our regular business hours. Due to possible high volume of registrations, it may take up to two business days to validate your credentials.
Why does it ask me for the company Tax ID?
Once you click that you are an employee user, this field changes to SSN. You do not need your company tax ID.
It asks for my Company name. Is this my employer name, my union name, or my group name?
This is your group name on your ID card; however your company or Trust name will work as well.
My eligibility doesn’t appear to reflect all my coverage types. For example I have Vision through VSP and have selected another Medical coverage such as Kaiser, but my eligibility is not showing vision or medical information?
The eligibility and claims payment information reflected is based on claims that are paid through the Claims office. If your coverage is through VSP or another carrier, then the eligibility and claims information would not be reflected on this site. If you feel there is an eligibility discrepancy, please contact the ESC at 907-565-8300.
I can see all my dependents’ information. Is this okay?
Yes, this is okay. Information provided is the same as you would receive on an Explanation of Benefits for yourself and/or your dependents, which is normally mailed to the members’ home address.
When I am looking at my deductible amount, how do I view my dependents deductible?
Click the dependents tab, select the dependent you wish to view, and then you can look at their claims information. You cannot see the whole family in one place; each dependent must be viewed separately.
Why does the employee have to register, why can’t I? (spouse of employee)
The employee needs to register because we are providing the same information that we do on an EOB we send to the member. The dependent cannot because based on the HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations the member is allowed to see all the dependents information, but other dependents are not allowed access to that same information.
I want to restrict my information, what do I do?
You will need to contact the Privacy Official of your Plan and request a restriction in writing.
I have a power of attorney or authorization from my spouse to view the account. Why can’t I access it?
The functionality of the system is designed to accept the employee information only, so the employee information must be registered.
Where is my contributions history prior to September 1, 2005?
The contributions information prior to September of 2005 is not currently available for on-line viewing because of administration changes and system updates. If you have any questions about your contributions prior to September 1, 2005, please contact our customer service department. We will be happy to answer your questions.
Why is my Beneficiary information not displayed on-line?
If you have submitted your beneficiary information prior to 2006 it is likely stored in its original paper format.
Why do I have all of these eligibility date spans?
Each date span reflects you and your family’s eligibility underneath your separate benefits such as medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance and time loss. Other changes you may have made such as working for a different employer or updating other personal information may also show as a new span.
Why is there a change mid-month to my date span?
If there is a change to any dependent status, such as an over the age limit birthday, a divorce, or a death, the system will create a new line to reflect the more current dependent benefit status.
I have no dependents, why am I showing family coverage?
The type of coverage that you are eligible for is a family plan. This benefit is offered to every member, regardless of number of dependents. Your vision, prescription medical and dental coverage are considered part of the family plan coverage. However, your time loss and life insurance benefits are not offered to dependents so it will display as a member only coverage.
