Electronic Communications FAQs
Q.
  What software will I need?

A.
Any computer which is attached to or can dial-up the Internet will suffice. Your computer needs to be running any browser which is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.0 or above. You must have the ability to receive email. For certain sections of the site, you must have a copy of the free Adobe Reader software version 4.0 or above.
Q.
Will any of my personal information be vulnerable to hackers?

A.
This program will communicate only general plan information to you electronically. No personal information will be sent by email. When the trust wants to communicate personal information to you, you will be sent a link to a secure, encrypted login page to view the information.
Q.
Why are the Plans initiating this program?

A.
The Trustees are using electronic communications in order to reduce costs, to increase efficiency of the Plans' operations, and to make information you need more accessible and convenient for you. The more you understand your benefit programs, the better value you can obtain from each benefit dollar going into the Plans.
Q.
  How does it work?

A.
After you have signed up for this option, whenever the Trust has a general communication, you will receive an email. The email will contain a link to the web page or PDF document which will be stored on the website. You can view or download the communication at your own convenience. The email will also explain the nature of the communication and what kinds of information it contains.
Q.
What if I want to resume getting paper documents?

A.
You can terminate participation in the electronic communications program at any time by phoning or writing the Plan office, or by submitting the online termination form.
Q.
  What if my email changes?

A.
You can change your email address by using an online form. You must retain and use your activation key which was mailed to you in order to make such a change. You can also write to the Plan office with a change of email address. In order to protect the accuracy of your email address change, these changes will not be taken over the phone.
